Is the way you talk to yourself harsher than you’d ever speak to someone you love? What if your self-talk was as kind as your conversations with your bestie?

The inner bully is sneaky as hell, always convincing us that something on the outside needs fixing before we can feel good on the inside.

Her voice pops up in all kinds of ways, like “too fat,” “too tall,” “too loud,” “too quiet,” “too old,” “too young,” “too different,” or “too basic.”

She’s the one who bombards us with “shoulds,” always telling us how we’re falling short.

And, let’s be real—her “solutions” make us twist ourselves into whatever shape she thinks we need to be in just to feel worthy. But guess what? Her advice only leaves us feeling worse.

The more shame we feel, the more power she gets, keeping that nasty cycle going.

I want to help you tame that inner bully, so you can leave insecurity behind and show up to life with the confidence you deserve. It’s time to kick that bully to the curb and start showing up as your true, unshakable self!

In this workshop, I’ll share tools I’ve used to quiet my inner critic and build self-trust—so you can better understand your inner dialogue, shift negative thought patterns, and start showing up with more clarity, confidence, and self-grace.

What we’ll do in this workshop:

While life is full of both positive and negative experiences, our minds tend to hold tightly to the negative ones. But here’s the good news: With a few simple tools and a little practice, you can retrain your brain to hold the positive.

  • Let go of insecurity and build true confidence so you can show up fully and experience more fulfillment, pleasure, and joy.

  • Discover how to finally stop beating yourself up so you can embrace the wildly wonderful parts of yourself.

  • Connect with like-minded women in a supportive, uplifting community—and feel truly seen, understood, and at home in a beautiful historic space.

This workshop will draw from the research on negativity bias by neuroscientist Rick Hanson. Ph.D., as well as my own anthropological observations and therapeutic training around cultural, emotional, and biological aspects of why the inner critic is the loudest voice in our heads.

But don’t worry—I’m not here to just throw theories at you. I’ll make these ideas real, relatable, and practical so you can actually use them in your life.

You’ll also leave with tangible tools to stop the negative thought pattern in real-time and even some that can help rewire your brain, shifting those critical inner messages into more supportive, empowering ones.

And because the key to confidence is self-trust we’re going to make art!

That's because an intuitive process like creating collages is a powerful way to cultivate self-trust.

In this exercise — which involves selecting and assembling images — we will give a visual form to their inner critic, the voice that expresses self-doubt, criticism, or judgment.

By externalizing this voice in a visual, tangible way, we’ll foster self-awareness and help them recognize the origins and triggers of their inner criticism.

The best part? No artistic skills required. If you can cut and glue, you can make something meaningful.

This workshop is for anyone ready to quiet their inner critic, build lasting self-trust, and create more space for confidence, joy, and self-grace.

Sound like something you need? Let’s do this together.

Discover how implementing simple self-care practices can change the way you speak to yourself so that you have unshakeable self-confidence.

Connect with other women on the same journey so you can stop telling yourself the story of "I'm the only one" or "This works for everyone else but me."

Leave with tools to stop the thought pattern in real time, so you can stop picking yourself apart and start treating yourself like a friend.

*Please note, the workshop will take place in a cozy upstairs space that, unfortunately, isn't wheelchair accessible at this time. We understand this may be limiting and are exploring ways to make future events more inclusive.

Walking the same path...

"I trust Jaclyn's experience and wisdom because she's been through the same things I'm going through. She doesn’t talk down to you or preach—she walks alongside you, just a little further down the path, and generously shares the way forward."

About Jaclyn

New Orleans-based life coach and artist Jaclyn McCabe brings a vibrant blend of creativity, compassion, and curiosity to everything she does. Whether crafting her signature mixed-media collages or guiding people toward radical self-acceptance, Jaclyn's work is rooted in one core practice: observation.

Her collages begin with quiet attention—watching, listening, and allowing the piece to take her where it needs to go. The result may be a whimsical expression of awe-inspiring beauty or a reflection of deep, difficult emotions. For Jaclyn, her art is a space to "put the emotions."

Jaclyn's journey as a creator and healer has been anything but linear. After earning degrees in Photojournalism and Cultural Anthropology from Western Kentucky University, she transitioned into retail, opening a boutique that celebrated plus-size women. It was there that she began to notice the deeper cultural wounds her customers carried—patterns of shame, criticism, and disconnection from their worthiness.

This inspired Jaclyn to become a certified professional coach, focusing on helping people rewrite those narratives. Her holistic approach empowers clients to replace self-criticism with self-grace.

Through all of her work, Jaclyn's mission remains clear: to help others see themselves—and the world—through a lens of possibility, beauty, and acceptance.
