"Hug a tree!” My fellow single friend replied when I mentioned I hadn’t hugged another person in over three weeks, “It felt silly at first, but now I kinda like it.”
After our call, I stepped into my yard, looked both ways to make sure a neighbor wouldn’t see me, and hugged my cypress tree. And she was right! It felt silly at first, and then I kinda liked it. It was as if I could feel the healing powers of Mother Earth hugging me back.
I’m grateful to live in a city where the branches of the oak trees touch the earth so that I can climb into them for a little dose of self-care.Â
Tell me, what does self-care look like for you today?
